Why this Matters

Because everyone should have an equal opportunity to compete and succeed in Arizona.

Programs that promote equal opportunity are good for Arizona because they give everyone who’s qualified a chance to prove that they can excel.

The modest programs we have in Arizona today promote equal opportunity and are important tools for ensuring that all communities have a chance to succeed, achieve economic security and contribute to our state’s economy.

We’re all in this together. Equal opportunity gives communities a hand up, not a hand out.

“What People Are Saying”

“When everyone looks alike and speaks alike, you are also going to think alike and you’re not going to grow. We in Glendale wouldn’t be where we are today if we all talked, thought and looked alike.”
- Glendale City Manager Ed Beasley.

“The Connerly initiative will bring back the ‘good ole boy network’ where it’s not what you know but who you know.”
- Phoenix Attorney Booker T. Evans.

“The League of Women Voters Arizona believes that this initiative is bad for Arizona and particularly for Arizona Women & Girls.” -
- League of Women Voters Arizona.

"...[Proposition 107] would have a debilitating effect on equal access to education and employment for minorities and women..."
- Pima County/Tucson Women’s Commission

"...The City of Phoenix values and respects the diversity of our residents, our employees and all people. Phoenix is a city that is proud to solve problems and find solutions when problems exist. PROP 107 is an out-of-state 'solution' looking for a problem that does not exist in Arizona...I urge my fellow Arizonans to vote no on Proposition 107 and its outsider politics of division and deception..."
- Phoenix Mayor Phi Gordon
